What is not an addiction then? Do you eat regularly everyday? Do you call that an addiction? Ending the relationship can be cause by many different things, agree that porn could of been a major issue, but I am questioning why porn came to be a priority among many other subjects!

What is wrong with some of you people, read the entire original post before you say something in this thread. So far very little of you have actually been an actual help and apparently to some of you showwing a care for your friends is foreign to you. Also because I keyed in a word incorrectly you don't have to make a point about that, seriously. Why don't you contribute something usefull to this thead? I'm not talking to everybody who responded, some of you made some helpful comments though and you know who you are.

So, like many things in life, too much of something can be bad, as can irresponsible use. People must understand that porn does not represent a realistic manner of sexual behavior, just as movies or reality TV does not accurately reflect the real world.
And, as one Futurama said at the beginning, "Not a substitute for human interaction." I guess that's almost accurate. Porn can in fact be a substitute for human interaction. Just not a very good one. It's like substituting real food with sticks of butter. It's a substitute for real food, but it's really not a very good one.

You are missing an important counter-point: porn and rampant sluttism is becoming a mainstream part of america now more than ever. Take a look at the 17-year-old girls with boob jobs wearing "Pornstar" half-tops with their jeans showing their thonged asscracks. Take a look at how young women use Halloween to dress as sluttily as they possibly can. Look at the all-time high rate of pre-marital sex. We live in a society driven by sex, and porn is an important part of our national image. The sooner you embrace it, the better you will be.

You won't get any help around here because no one here thinks there is anything wrong with watching porn (short of Lolawiz). Is your friend's porn watching hurting you in some way? If not then mind your own business. I think you'd be hard pressed to find many people who DON'T look at porn. Even my best female friend watches porn.

Sorry Lola, but you sound like the same sort of person that blames video games and rap music for the violence in our society. Am I right? Isn't that the same logic?

Pornography is a multi-billion dollar industry. It's like anything else American..it's got an ugly side to it (See Steroids in MLB, Crime in the NBA, NFL) but people are obviously buying into it...they just don't like to admit it.

If she did blame video games and rap music as the sole reason for violence, she'd be wrong. But to argue that either doesn't play a significant role is equally wrong. I'm not saying that porn is purely a bad thing. However, an argument that overall it isn't having a negative effect on our society would be difficult to make.

LOL. It's weird that as a nation, we're more up tight about talking about sex than many nations in Europe (just look at some of their commercials), yet we seem to have a much higher rate of pre-marital sex than they do.
