I think my DVD-ROM is DEAD!

All cables are attatched, the jumper hasn't changed since the day I bought it, and yes I have tried different discs. So it's dead huh?

If you try it in a different computer and it's still not working, then it sounds like you've got a dead drive there.

If you haven't changed anything and the cd rom suddenly cannot read, do the following:
1. Listen make sure the drive still spins when you put in a cd.
2. If it doesn't spin, most likely it's dead. If it spins, take out the cd and using a soft bristled paint brush, clean the lens.
3. If it still doesn't read it's DEAD.
