I think my 360 just died...

Earlier today I was jamming out to some Rock Band 2. During the game teh colors went all whack on me. I just turned the thing off and did something else. I fired it back up a few hours later and I get no video at all. Checked the A/V cable, its not loose. Tried different inputs, tried a different game, tried just about everything I could. Nothing works. I'm going to pick up a new AV cable today and see if that fixes it, but those cables rarely go bad. Its not bend or cut in anyway, so I'm assuming the 360 has died on me


Anyone know if they will warranty something like this? I got the 360 a few years ago, I think about 1 1/2 years after release. I've had it repaired once for the RROD. I'm worried that they won't cover this, I don't really have the money to buy a new one right now

I've never had the RRoD on my Elite (Zephyr launch day model). I've read about cases where a user gets the RRoD while playing and they're able to restart the system and play for 30 minutes before getting the RRoD again. I am doubtful that MS has someone sitting around verifying that each system coming in actually RRoD's, but I suppose your mileage may vary.

I was kind of concerned about that. I'd have intermittent RROD's (original Premium launch day 360), and finally after having come back home from 2 weeks out of town it will only RROD. (Sending it off to repair today) Hope they just open it up and fix er and get it back to me.

I just got the RROD for the first time last night. It hasn't worked since.

I think if you just call in a RROD they will send a coffin and do a swap. I dont think MS takes their time to actually see WTF is up with incomming 360s. They probably swap and toss the RROD one in a large bin where IT picks em up and fixes em up, puts back in a bin and the whole cycle repeats. Forever. And ever. Until the world is depleted of all 360 resources and then MS will reveal...............A new console!!!

I may try the RROD route then. The first time I had an RROD I'm pretty sure they repaired/resent the old system, but I could be wrong. Guess I'll find out. Tried a new A/V cable and no work. This sucks, I'll be without 360 for a few weeks now

Sent one back twice and each time I got a different one. Seems like its a bout to go yet again, getting DVD reading errors. I picked up a second used one that has been working great. I leave it at my GFs so I can play when I am there which is half the time. So if the first one goe at least I have a backup. Hmm, the 3 year mark is coming up. I should play it hard so it can RROD or just totally crap out.

Well I did a claim for the RROD. Hopefully they just give me a new one and all things are good.

They have a warehouse full of never ending supply of refurb 360s from 2006. You gonna get one of those.

Yeah mine died last week also after not playing it for a few months. Had it since April '06.
Sent it in yesterday.

I didn't bother sending mine in after it died on me a few weeks ago. I went and bought a PS3.

Had a friend that bought one. I gave him all the accessories and games for cheap. I only had 3 games anyways.

Got my third RROD last week...did the towel trick, played it through the weekend...then forced it last night....(halo 3 tends to do that)...
