i was having some stability problems recently that got exacerbated by a recent purchase of Assassin's Creed... so i decided to try memtest to see if that would fix the problem. i left it running overnight..and well, the result wasn't good. See Here. so i roll back my OC (memory wasnt really oced, just the cpu was...) rolled timings back to jedec standard, made sure the voltage was proper for the memory..nothing helped.

now the computer wont even boot without BSODing.

i got memtest to run again, but it was experiencing errors in all 4 sticks. (oh, forgot to mention, i have 4 sticks of DDR2 800 Corsair. 4x1gb.) now i'm scared to use known good pulls out of another computer for fear my computer might screw it up.

First, you need to check the sticks individually. Second, unless your MB is fried AND your PSU is dying, it is extremely unlikely that your computer will damage the ram from the other computer.

First of all Memtest doesn't fix problems it helps to identify RAM problems. As mentioned above there would have to be a serious problem with the motherboard for known good DIMMS to be damaged. So try some other RAM and see how it goes.

well, i bought some new memory today (good excuse to go with 2gb dimms) and it works quite well. will be 15 bucks AR for 4 gigs.

i'll still test and RMA the individual sticks. 6gb will be nice.
