After getting lost in suburbia a few days ago while looking for a friends house, I resolved to buy a cell phone. Signed up with Verizon Wireless after getting some good reccomendations from co-workers, got an LG VX4600 phone on the way. 🙂

Yea, its a habit that catches on fast....

First cell phone i had was with Sprint close to 5-6 years ago.... It was like 100-150 anytime minutes, and 1000 night and weekend. I remember when my first bill i only used like 15-20 mins...

Just this past month, i used a grand total of close to 1100 minutes, and have had months where i've gone close to 1600 or so. 🙁 :beer:
 
Right now, I've just got a local call plan/minutes, but if things go well with it, I might shut off my land line in favor of the cell. 🙂
 
heh, I lost my cellphone and was without a phone for a week. I almost went nuts. Fortunately I dug out a nokia 5165, called ATT and they switched service to this phone. God damn, piece of trash doesn't even begin to describe this phone, but it's better than me going insane.

im not getting one till someone forces me to. I hate fvcking cell phones. why in the hell would i want work or others to be able to contact me wherever i am at. People nearly kill me every day im on the road because they are not using handless cellphones. People interupt my class by them not having theirs on vibrate. I hope someone writes a worm that cripples the cell network soon.

The idea is convenience... and that you are able to reach others from anywhere... the other way around is up to you. Not everyone is in need of a cellphone... depends on your lifestyle. Again, it's available for convenience. Like everything else, it gets abused... that doesn't make it a terrible idea. Hands-free cellphones should be law everywhere. People in class who don't put theirs on vibrate need to get beat upside the head. That is all.
