I personally think homosexuality should be treated as a sickness and gays should be treated for it. Lobotomy, chemical castration, etc. If everyone were gay then our species would die off. If you believe in evolution, and you believe in Darwin's theory of natural selection, then you also believe that being gay is a defect and will eventually be killed off.

Not a church goer, sorry. Don't know, for the same reason he made cancer, aids, bubonic plague, and every other abomination. Maybe he was bored.
Marriage is a moral institution. It is not a celebration of heterosexuality; it is a celebration of human sexuality in its purest, moral form.
Marriage as the state defines it, because people can't even be bothered with simple honesty (upholding wedding vows) much less sexual purity, will continue to degrade until it is no longer recognizable as the wonderful institution our ancestors gave us.

I have no personal objection to, or problem with, homosexuality. then again, im smart enough to realize that going through your lives hoping for some sort of "apology" is destined to leave you wanting... your best bet is to just move on and continue to survive given the status quo... perhaps it will change in another few hundred years...if you're lucky. But first, the entire world will have to switch to geneticly engineered reproduction... (think science fiction). Until that happens, the status quo will remain focused on a heterosexual populace.

Catholic church teaching is fairly sympathetic to homosexuals,
if not homosexual acts, in contrast to some other major churches &
religions.
Should the catholic church need to apologise to all the murderers that believe that their actions are perfectly fine, but because the church said that murder is wrong these people have been imprisoned? The problem with demanding that the church apologise for what homosexuals deem persecution is that part of the basis of christianity is that there are moral absolutes, and some things are flat out wrong (like murder, lying, stealing, and homosexuality among others). I don't believe that anybody has a right to arbitrarily torture or physically abuse any human being the way too many people do (beating/murdering blacks/gays/anybody of any religion) for any reason, and I am fairly irritated (to say the least) when people use the phrase "God hates gays", which I have every reason to believe is completely wrong. What those people who say that conveniently forget is that God loves everybody, it's just that people are made 'impure' or however you care to put it by sinful actions.
I think that at best an apology from the church for wrongful beatings/murder/execution might be realistic, but anything like demanding that christians and the church stop saying "This is something that we believe is wrong under this system of moral absolutes" is fairly unrealistic at best.

ok, in defense of the homosexuals, I dont think that there is any coorelation between the two actions at all. that's as ridiculous as asking all heterosexuals to apologize for all male/female or female/male molestations... AFAIK, homosexuals are no more likely to molest than heteros.
then again, i think that dreaming of apologies for anything is ridiculous. as the saying goes, you can hope for an apology in one hand, and sh*t in the other, and I think you know which one will fill up first...
