No, seriously, I agree with you, more-or-less. One can certainly see some similarity between the analogues of the scrum and down linemen, the scrumhalf and the quarterback, and even the open play when american football teams run the option. Still, with the stoppages of play, the forward passing, yada yada yada, they are really more different than they are similar.
