i think it's funny that pentax's newest lens is available for canikon but not pentax

pentax designed, tokina manufactured. they're both part of hoya now, but that partnership has been around a long time.

the lens turned in respectable performance figures at photozone. and the range is close to the classic 70-200.

I was under the impression the pentax version of the lens was going to include an ultrasonic motor, thus the delay. Of course, I could definitely be wrong.

Yeah actually lenses like the Tokina 10-17 fisheye zoom were originally Pentax lenses, then adopted by Tokina and made for other mounts.

yes, the pentax will have a sonic motor, as opposed to the regular coreless motor by tokina. that could be the source of the delay, i have no idea. regardless of why there is a delay, the fact that canon users can buy pentax's new lens and pentax users can't is kinda funny.


the tokina 12-24 f/4 is also a pentax design
