Just to drive a car with texas plates in alaska.

it says about 4500 miles, all highway. My town car does 25 mpg or better on the highway, so that's 180 gallons of gas. Say 3 dollars a gallon and that's 540 dollars one way. Still, I think it'd be worth it. It would be a great great drive, you'd see some beautiful country.

And I love the idea of Texas plates in Alaska.

What a waste of gas.

Might as well continue to ANWR and drill for some oil for your car. Take it down to Houston to get refined and you'll have your gas again. Just a few gallons, no one will ever know :p

Do it.

I'm seriously considering it - it would be a may '07 trip, after school gets out. If I can find one or two friends who are completely batsh!t crazy, I just might.

I love anchorage in the summer - my idea of heaven on earth.

Heh... 25 years ago having Texas plates in Alaska would have almost insured that you wouldn't be able to drive back. ;)

We're a little more relaxed about that sort of thing now though.
