For some reason, while I was at work, my dad decided to bid on something on eBay, and put a high starting bid on it. He doesn't research things far enough and thinks he'll be getting it cheap. Anyway, I looked at the auction, and the seller has 0 feedback and just registered like 3 days ago. Red flag went on in my head. Item is under $50 but still ...
After I lectured him , I looked on how to retract a bid, but of course, there is no option for "I think he'll scam me".
So, only other way is for me to contact seller and make up a story and ask to retract a bid (say something like my young son bid on it while I went away from PC or something). I know that sounds ironic
What should I do?
I've been told to just say I put in wrong amount, but I thought it says if you pick that, you have to re-enter right amount?
