Yup. 9,995 for a 2005 chevy malibue, carbon gray. 27,000 miles on it. about another 8k under the bumper to bumper warranty. I don't think I'm finding another 2005, or even a 2004 for that cheap.

UPDATE: Got the car today....The color looks wicked nice, the exterior is pretty much spotless, and the insurance only went up about 45 a month over my 88 oldsmobile, even with ful comprehensive insurance. The difference in gas mileage will eat up most of that increase. Pics to follow tomorrow....I can hardly wait to put my system into it. I've never had a good car to put it in before! :)

They look bad, and are uncomfy. I'm not a mechanic so I can't talk about the reliablity, but I'm guessing not so great.

if anyone can think of a car for 10,000 or less that I can get, that doesn't have more than 40,000 miles on it say from the last couple years, please chime in....

we have a couple in our corporate fleet. they're not bad cars at all imho. one thing's for sure - you feel safe driving them. they're pretty large cars. pretty smooth ride, i'd definitely consider buying one.

you ever sat in the new models, or are you referring to the old POS models?

nice choice accipiter, you wont find anything close to that price unless you can go find a 2005 model on the lot, which should have a 3250 rebate if they still have that. and a base malibu will run you about 16k w/o abs and youd be looking at about 13k for brand new one. but good deal, i love my MAXX the 4 banger should get you great gas mileage, ignore what all the foreign car ppl say.

however there is ONE thing about the vehicle you should know, sometimes the ignition on the dash sticks open and continues to try to crank the car w/o it actually firing, ive had it happen once to me and my ccars <1 month old. and it has been reported by others. im not sure if there is a TSB or a recall out for it, but there should be soon hopefully. its easy to stop, just turn the car off.

 Good car, but mileage seems high if it's one year old. Or is it two years old? Watch out for the front headrests--I find them at a weird angle. Some people flip them around!

Yep they are good cars. The engine is a Eco-Tec. Very good. Good enough to power the new pontiac and saturn that everybody is talking about.

I don't think anything is cheaper for that price except a Hyundai or Kia. Good deal

Good luck

There are a FEW out there. Probable a car on loan to a dealer to show off.

thanks! Glad to see other people who have replied appreciate a good deal too....I checked consumer reports and they actually rated them very well, as did a couple other sources I use. In the late 90's they were rated very low across the board, and then in 03 and the redesign in 04 they got a lot better. I like bigger cars too, and there's plenty of space in it!

I gotta say I've never had a car where I could pull the seat up past the farthest back setting...in the malibu I had the thing halfway up about....there's a TON of room
