Yesterday was the crappiest day.

First, I find out at work that myself and the rest of the office staff have to sit through a course given by a consultant that is the biggest ass in the world. 10 sessions, 2 hours each.

Second, I talk to the guy handling the house I'm going to rent when my wife and I separate and the previous tenants have trashed the house badly. I mean dog and Human Feces smeared on the walls and ground into the carpet, holes in every wall, open garbage in the basement and in the garage. He said the smell makes you sick. Plus they have about 25 fly strips hanging that are black with flies, in addition to the bazillion more flying on the sh!t and garbage.

Then I get a call from a company I work with through my employer and they want to talk to me about a position as Manager of their Hardware Division. We're talking a company doing great things as a provider of Telecommunication, Networking and Computing technology. And they want me to manage the division. At about twice the damn salary that I make now. And it's an hour away. While I have joint custody of my kids.

Talk about being born under a bad sign.

So, how was your day? I need a beer.

Take the promotion and move an hour away.Joint custody is noble, you just need to manage it differently.
Hint--the answer is not at the bootom of a beer bottle,DAD!

Tripleshot & ltk007 I settled for a diet coke and two glasses of icewater.

Fetts we have agreed on joint with the kids residing with her during the week me on weekends and holidays and swapping in the summer. Works out to within 40 days of a 50/50 split. We get along pretty good for the most part, just stressed right now with the upcoming move.

redly1 I went and looked at the house tonight and while it is a mess, it was also highly exagerated. The owners are going to fumigate, re-carpet and re-paint the entire house before I move in, so it should be in good shape. When I got there tonight they had already emptied the house and aired it out so the smell was really gone.

As for the job, I go talk to them next Wednesday. I told them about my current situation and the problems it might cause and all she said was that she understands but I REALLY need to look at this position. She is stressing very hard that I not let this go by. It's a good company and they've tried to hire me before but we just couldn't work anything out. They've worked with me a lot on various projects and I'm on the Steering Committee for their User's Group Forum, so they know my capabilities and experience.

I couldn't move over there, that's just not feasible with the kids. I'd either have to commute or move somewhere in the middle. As it is now, during the week I will probably still see the girls 3 to 4 nights with their various activities and all. The future ex is about having kittens already trying to help them with their home work. I've always been the patient one that has worked with them because it stressed her too much. All I can say is their grades better not suffer.

I guess we'll just have to see how things work out.
