Some people are not morning people no matter how much sleep they get! We all have different rhythms.
Have you ever been checked for diabetes? Sad, but feeling tired at abnormal times (early morning because your body has not had food in it) is a real symptom of diabetes.

Even after 10 hours of good sleep, waking at 7 to go to work hurts like hell. I'm not a morning person, and never, ever will be.
recent sleep studies (no link) suggest that people may require as few as 4 hours of sleep a night, or as much as 10 or 11.
The best way to assure restful sleep is exercise or activity during the day.
i remember sleeping 3,4 on my second year in college... i'd just fall asleep everywhere during the day: in lecture halls, classes, on the train, subway, buses... it was bad.
7,8 is more normal. i'd consider a good sleep is when you don't need coffee in the morning to wake you up.
I've NEVER been a morning person and I never will be. Also, having fibromyalgia makes sleeping a long time just about a necessity because our sleep is usually not that great. Anyway....I feel your pain.
i sleep about 6-7hrs a day - that way i dont feel tired or sleepy throughout the day. maye a bit tired around 3-4pm - but then i eat like an apple or something and am ready to go. being in office from 8am to 6pm sucks though.
Seems starnge to me that I naturally want to stay up late and sleep late, if I go for awhile without the need to get up an any certian time (when I was unemployed) then I'd tend to eaisly stay up until 3 AM on a regular basis and wake up at around 11AM or 12 PM, but now that I work M-F 9-6 I go to be at around 12 AM and get up at 8 AM, then when the weekends come around I'm up until 2-4 and usually get up anywhere from 10-1.
