I think I should be pissed off, but I'm not sure...

While I was home for the weekend, my roommate let one of his friends sleep in my bed. My computer (which was locked when I left) got turned off and soda (which was replaced, thankfully) was consumed.

I've only been rooming with this guy for 3 weeks, so I don't know him real well. My initial reaction is that I'm very annoyed, but I'm going to let myself settle down before I talk to him about it. I will DEFINITELY talk to him about it. I'm most bothered by someone I don't know sleeping in my bed. I'm very possessive about my computers but I can understand it if he tells me the reason was the noise it can generate.

I can handle myself, I'm not about to let myself get walked all over, but I just want to see what other people's reactions would be.

I think you have a right to be a bit upset, just talk to him and either tell him you don't want others sleeping in your bed or tell him to ask permission before he lets someone sleep in your bed.

Don't get pissed off before talking w/ him, having a roommate is still a "relationship," keeping things bottled up just isn't a positive way to deal w/ issues, hope this helps :)

Let him get his story out before hitting him with both barrels, just in case you don't want to hit him with both barrels when he's done expaining.

I read not even your first entire paragraph and i agree with your post title.. i'd have bitched the guy out bad for doing that. NO ONE touches my computer without asking, me and NO ONE sleeps in my bed without asking me! drinks are not such a huge deal, esp. if they are being replaced, though. if not, at least make that stupid guy replace them! i'm sorry, but it's all about permission.. you can't just do stuff like that, without asking. i would be freaking infuriated at the roomate for that.

Alright, I'm in line with most of the comments. I'm really not that upset about the computer thing, that was just something tacked on to the rest of the situation.

After my initial post I did notice that some food is missing. Again, that part isn't a huge deal but it's just a matter of him not respecting my space that is very bothersome to me. The talk will be had whenever he gets back. Thanks for your input guys. :D

Right on CKDragon, definitely make a point of confronting him about this.. so next time that dude is over, this crap hopefully doesn't happen.

I'd talk about the bed(but not get unnecessarily riled up prior), and let go the PC and soda thing...

agreed... if they replaced the soda, and no harm was done to the comp, then no worries there.

the bed thing is kinda weird though :-\

That is just wrong. It's a good thing you locked your computer, but I would be pissed. The first thing I'd do is wash all the sheets and turn over the mattress on the bed.

The soda thing really sucks too, but you didn't plan on drinking it after you came back did you?

I'd be a bit ticked off if some stranger were sleeping in my bed. You never know if you could catch some sort of guy cooties.

I would let the computer thing go, and instead shut down my computer before leaving. Put a bios password on the machine so people can't use it while you are gone.

The bed thing is an issue. I never carried if people slept in my bed, but my roommies always cleared it with me first.

The soda thing isn't an issue as it was replaced.

That looks like MasterCard!

:D

I'd be pissed with the sleeping on my bed without him asking for permission. Do you have a cellphone? If you do you'd think he'd ring to ask for your permission or not wouldn't you?

The other things I wouldn't be bothered about, he did replace the soda.
