I just have no experience or knowledge of Micronics at all.

I see Tom's did a review on one of the best PSUs they produce, and their first unit died when they tested the over-power protection:

Our first sample died during the over-power protection test. Its bridge rectifier was fried, and a resistor close to the primary FETs exploded.

Despite this, they received another unit and still gave it a good review. I'm kind of surprised by that, but it's their site. However, your unit is a even lower on the quality scale than the PSU they reviewed, and only has a 2 year warranty. I have no idea of what is inside, but it is likely not that good of a unit:

I wouldn't personally use one in my PC, but that's about as much as I can tell you about the Micronics brand.

The Seasonic unit all day long out of those choices.

I've never even heard of your current Micronics PSU brand.
It was cheap at $12 , I bought it to get the computer working and I have no complaints , quiet works - no problems , looks ok - does not look cheap . BUT , I do realise that I need a better one . How about Cooler Master MasterWatt 650w ( MPX6501AMAABUK ) ? On the Coolermaster website they have a 5 yr warranty , but the dealer states only two ? Are these PSUs good ?

Nope. Get the Seasonic.

The Cooler Master is made by HEC, and uses low-end 85c Chinese capacitors:

I think I need a 620w + processor , 520w is readily available , But I am hoping to overclock the processor a bit ( X5650 ) and think I may need more than 520w .

  • ""80 Plus gold units with Japanese capacitors actually don’t cost a lot more."" ( from Kitguru ) If that being the case , why in Gods name do they not use them ?? The world we live in is a very strange and confusing place !

I don't think you will need a 620w unit to overclock a 95w TDP CPU a little bit.

I run the components in my signature using a 550w PSU, and I still have plenty of free power left. That's with a 1080ti, a ton of fans, 3 SSDs, DVD burner, sound card, and a 6700k.

I have the Seasonic 620w bronze fully modular PSU running my Ryzen rig with a AMD 7950. Works great.

I wanted the Seasonic , but only the 520W non-modular is available here .
I had a 450w EVGA Bronze that I really liked. It wasn't enough for my OC'd 7950, without OCing it was perfect. I upgraded to the Seasonic 620w Bronze modual not basing it on power but price. It has been rock solid much like all the EVGA's that I have.

Good luck with your Corsair power supply, hope it serves you well.
