I think I missed a Hot Deal on a Compaq at Sears.

I was checking the clearance items at Sears today and saw a Compaq 7594. Specs It is a 566 Celeron, 64mb, 10.0gig. It was only the tower with Compaq keyboard and mouse. They had new ones in the box for $549. This clearance one was marked for $299. Usually they give you a new warranty on these clearance items.

I walked around a few minutes thinking about it. When I went back to buy it, another guy was taking it off the shelf. I know it's not a great computer, but for $299 I think I should have snatched it up.

The only HOT deal on a Compaq computer is when it's in the incinerator.

Seriously, this deal sounds like an "open box" special. The price isn't too bad. Sometimes, the open-box items are missing pieces. I was also at Sears today and noticed several TVs that were being sold at similar discounts. Most were missing the manuals and the remote controls.
