I think I might of destroyed my motherboard.

I just got a msi k8n neo. I had to take the back plate off to to install my cpu fan, but it was glued on so I had to get a knife in there and cut it free. I scratched up the back of the board pretty good while doing this, it looks like I may have exposed some of the wiring even. Now when I try to start the comp it runs for about 10 seconds then shuts down, and I get no video signal. Do you think I destroyed my board or is there something else I'm missing?

According to the debug leds my cpu is either damaged or improperly installed. I did accidently run it with the heatsink on but the fan unplugged for about 5 seconds. Do you think I could of burned my cpu out that fast?

sounds like u fvcked up ur board.

and no your cpu could not burn out that fast, the thermal protection should have kicked in.

I for one find the idea that you would knowingly RMA a board YOU messed up Revolting. YOU ARE SLIME. The motheboard manuafature DOES NOT OWE YOU A THING for your own STUPIDITY!!!!! If you will do this you will CHEAT, LIE, and anything else you can get away with! Go craw back into the hole you came out of!

Sure, you could send it in, but once they realize that this was not a bad motherboard [see scratches on back of board], they'll probably deny the RMA request.
Just because you fill out the paperwork doesn't necessarily mean they have to honor it. RMA's simply entitle you to send them the board, it's not written in stone that you'll get one back.
