I was melting pennies with my butane torch/soldering iron. For once, the zinc oxidized with a blue flame, and left a white powder. According to this site, the zinc oxide causes respiratory inflamation and fever in smoke form, so I'm not too worried about that. But that site also says that it sublimes at "very hgih temperature" and the gas is toxic. The melting point of zinc oxide is 1975°C and a butane flame is 1970°C. Should I be worried???
