I think I may have gotten a ticket

I was waiting to make a left turn onto La Brea from Santa Monica Blvd., the arrow light turns green and the first 2 cars ahead of me go and I'm stuck in the middle by the time the light turns red. So I go ahead and make the left turn. I thought nothing of it, until I saw signs saying "PHOTO ENFORCEMENT". Then I think, "OH SH|T! I'M BUSTED!". I didn't see any flashes go off because it was a bright and sunny day but for the next 2 weeks, I hope I don't receive any mail from the city.

If I do get a ticket, is there any way to fight this, since I was stuck in the middle and was basically forced to go, otherwise I'd cause gridlock.

i think that if you're already over the white line, you should be ok. Theoretically that's how the cameras should be setup.

I know yellows are usually to stop, but I can't imagine how many of us use yellow as "go quick". I think it should be that if you're still crossing the white when it flicks red, you're in trouble.

Hey! That intersection is 2 blocks from where I work.

Also, that intersection has audible walk signs which always make me wonder what the blind person is supposed to do for the 500,000 other intersections in this city.

i do not believe left turns are photo enforced. It all depends on the way camera is pointing. If its pointing straight then you didn't get a ticket if its at an angle then you could have and if you did get a ticket just pay it, you have no chances

I thought I would be able to make it but didn't realize how slow the car ahead of me turns.

I work about a mile away, closer to Vine St.

Just received some comforting news from my coworker. He told me that the cameras there are nonoperational currently because he has never seen a flash from it in a while. The tickets were being fought in court and people have won so the city just leaves it there to deter motorists. I'm not sure if this is true but I'll have to wait and see.
