I think I lucked out by not finishing my beer

A lot of this is speculation but I hope my luck remains for the next few days or weeks. You'll see what I mean.

I ordered an item from Amazon warehouse the other day. It arrived in a completely unusable state as the box was destroyed upon arrival. The larger issue which I did not realize until a few hours later was that the box that it came in looked like it may have come across a flood at a certain point.

After checking the item out, I cracked open a beer and took two sips. Even though it came from my fridge, I really did not like the taste of it so I set it aside on the kitchen sink to use for cooking the next day.

Half an hour later, I walked by the beer and saw to my horror a full sized cockroach crawling on the beer. I have never seen a roach at my place before and the thought of a roach infestation really disgusted me. The best logical explanation was that the cardboard box had an infestation.

I killed what I hope was the only one then trashed the box. Upon reading up on things that attract cockroaches, it was lucky that I left a beer out instead of finishing it since these things actually go to beer.

I can only hope now that the roach didn't lay any eggs (and that it did in fact come from the box).

I'll keep an eye out for more roaches. Worst case scenario I may have to bug bomb the place. I've lived with roaches before. I don't ever want to do it again.

Thoughts? Am I in the clear or will this be a huge problem?

roaches, specifically palmetto bugs, are just a part of summer life here in the south east. just because you have one or two, doesn't mean you have an infestation.

protip.

if anything arrives to your home in cardboard dispose of said cardboard IMMEDIATELY.

hell any packaging whatsoever.
