Painfully Low Standards:

You dont need ANY test to purchase a gun and an incredibly easy test for a concealed permit.

Looks like the bullshit gun safety test we have to pass to simply buy a gun in Kalifornistan.

No test to buy any guns here, just a standard background check that lasted about a few minutes.

But we do have to pass a written test and "on hand" test to have a CCW permit. That's how we do around here.

When discharging a firearm how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop?

There are reasons for tests, and there are reasons to not have tests. I understand both sides of the argument. I am one who thinks that a criminal/mental background check should be sufficient for gun ownership. I further think that a carry license should be issued if the background checks are clear. To require further restrictions is... well... questionable. But this is just my opinion on it.

My poor logical argument is this: The group who wants further restrictions on gun ownership should logically want further restrictions on other rights. And yet, this does not seem to be the case.

As opposed to the high level of standards that we set to allow people to vote how to run our government?

Hell, at least for guns we can ask for ID....

In Indiana all that was needed was a background check to purchase or carry. They just have hand gun permits, which allow you to carry concealed or open, your choice. Concealed is recommended.

Wisconsin think you need to take some kind of class/test for the CCW. Unless you have a permit they honor from another state. Just got my DL yesterday, so will be applying.

Every state has wildly different rules about this... It's still easier than it should be IMO

So, getting a gun is supposed to require some sort of advanced degree? Guns are pretty simple to understand and use.

You put a bullet that fits into it and pull the trigger, then the bullet shoots out of it.

That wasn't in there because of a misfire.

At some point during filming the revolver was apparently discharged with one of these improperly-deactivated cartridges in the chamber, setting off the primer with enough force to drive the bullet partway into the barrel, where it became stuck (a condition known as a squib load). The prop crew either failed to notice this or failed to recognize the significance of this issue.

It's because there's so many idiots. Of course some of them will have guns.

Understanding the mechanics of a gun are a lot different than knowing how to handle one safely. Too many people are unsafe with guns, many of them carry for self defense and could end up hurting a bystander because of their lack of safety training.

Gee, I don't agree with all of their correct answers.
"Which of the following should be avoided at all cost..."
"Prescription and over-the-counter medication"? Really? Avoid at all cost before shooting guns? A diabetic should skip their insulin if they plan on going to the gun range? Shouldn't they qualify which types of medications should be avoided, rather than tell people to avoid all medications at all costs?

And, to the OP, do you think the questions should be more difficult than that? How freaking complicated do you think guns are, that they should require a much more in depth test?

Q. Why we have so many idiots with guns?

A. Most people are idiots.
