Not sure.

I opened my lunch box today and I put it into the microwave. I could not find my spoon that's usually in my bag. The microwave beeped 3 min later and I walked back into take my lunch out. Ig rabbed a plastic fork from the drawer and started eating. Half way through I hit something hard. A metal spoon buried in my lunchbox... In the rice.

Uhh... did I microwave this thing? How come it didn't blow up.... Am I gonna die eating this?

rice makes excellent radiation shielding, which is why no detonation took place.

It's only household cleaning products that explode exactly when the microwave timer reaches 0.

also, from Wikipedia:
It is possible for metal objects to be microwave-oven compatible, although experimentation by users is not encouraged. Microwaving an individual smooth metal object without pointed ends, for example, a spoon or shallow metal pan, usually does not produce sparking.

You're probably already dead.

So true. He's just reflex posting, often seen also in Chicken's with internet access just after their heads were cut off.

You'd think we'd notice, but there's simply no way to tell since brainless posting is the norm here anyway. :awe:

As I understood it, it was fine to put metal in there as long as there was food to absorb the energy. It's when the only thing in there is metal or other poor absorbers that you run into problems. It's why you can microwave those paper chinese food containers with the metal handles. *could be wrong*
