A Weizenbier direct from Deutschland. But it's $15 a bottle!

Extremly smooth but with plenty of character, the coloration is perfect. Great head!...*snicker* Everything's just so balanced.

I can't wait for my two week trip to Germany next month.

--edit--
But I just finished the bottle, and I have no buzz :(
time for the hefe!

I think they were trolling.

But beer threads don't seem to work very well on ATOT.

Shens, I've had many successful beer threads.

I had two coronas yesterday at lunch because I was at Chipotle and there really isn't much else available. It made do. Then last night I had a bottle of Utenos Porter which was quite delicious :)

I know there are some beer connoisseurs left in OT, but I forgot what time it was over in the States. They should come out of the woodwork later on tonight.

Where are you going? If on the West side and near the Cologne area then make sure you try a Kolsch(o has umlaut). Might find it just outside the region as well.

My all time favorite, after several years of tasting different bears, remains "Storm King" by Victory. My second favorite if I'm not in a dark beer remains "90 minute IPA" by Dogfishhead. Those two have remained kings in my book for 3-4 years now.

I'm going to Spangdahlem for some training, I know a few people that's been living there for a bit, and love beer, so I plan to just try whatever they suggest.

Actually I was just reading my Binny's Beer Club email.

Rogue John John Ale - Dead Guy Ale aged in Dead Guy Whiskey barrels.
22 oz bomber for $9.99 - I need to pick me up at least one of those.

Gonna pick up a few more bottles of 2008 World Wide Stout as well. I'll probably end up spending $100, I usually do.

Well that is probably close enough, so some bar/restaurant should stock it. Best to get it on tap if you can, otherwise a grocer will do. :)

Ooh I'm a big fan of the Rogue line. My favorite of theirs is "Shakespeare Stout" and their Chocolate Stout, both are incredibly delicious but a little on the pricey side.

I know you're in the Chicagoland area, so I'll offer up a suggestion if you have not tried it yet. Grab a Goose Island Bourbon County Stout (comes in 22oz and 4pack.) It's a Stout aged in Bourbon barrels, and comes in at a whopping 13% ABV. Had it this week and it was strong, but delicious.

The shakespeare stout actually didn't do it for me, and stouts are my favorite. The chocolate stout is great though, I'll probably get a bottle of that today too, it's been a while since I've had some. I have no problem paying $6-10 for a bomber of good beer.

I've already gone through 2 four packs this winter, and have 2 more at home :) I cellared one, probably gonna cellar at least one more.

It's probably my favorite beer right now. Love the sweet syrupy bourbon taste.

I have been meaning to try Dogfishhead's 90 min. IPA, but it's $10+ for a 4 pack at the local grocery store. Does it sell for cheaper anywhere or is that the price I should expect?

Well then, I see you're up to date :) I also had a delicious IPA from Three Floyd's called "Lord Admiral Nelson Strong Bitter." It's a limited run, and I was only able to get it at a local store because my name was on the list (they only got 12 in.) I asked at Binny's and the guy said they got two cases in, and were all out in a couple of days. If you can find it, grab it. They do serve it at Kuma's Corner in Chicago (Belmont and Elston) if you're hard up for it.

Dude, that's cheap if you put it in perspective. I've paid $3 for fucking bud light at a bar before.

I actually don't really like hops, so IPA's don't do it for me D:
