So I bought an mp3 player from comp USA becuase it was only $30 after $20MIR. Anwyays, I register for it and everything and sent in the rebate form, UPC and receipt. Now I get a lil thing the the mail that says the rebate was denied since I didn't provide a registration code. So I take out my photocopy of the rebate form I sent in, and there is no line that asks for registration code! So I go find the rebate online, and sure enough theres a line that asks for the registration code...BUT when I go to a print preview of the form, or print it out again the line that asks for a registration code isn't there! This tactic isn't illegal is it?

What a bunch of tricky bastards :|:|:|

Heres the link to the rebate:

Welcome to the club, it's a scam Imo, obviously they try to make the rebate process as tricky as possible to eliminate
90% of the population, it's like winning the lotto if you actually get a rebate check,

eh, at least they bothered to include a technicality, usually they just ignore it and you get no check

So far I've gotten all my rebates. Copy everything you send in. Sometimes yes, they can be a hassle, may have to resubmit, you have to babysit them, but it's hardly like you state. True, I do have one going on 3 months since I submitted it, but it is confirmed and my check will arrive eventually.

Call up the rebate house and see what they can do. If you don't get anywhere there, go to CompUSA and maybe the manager will help you out. There is a rebate sticky in Hot Deals that lists all the contact info for many rebate houses. You can post this in that thread, but DON'T post this in HD, otherwise flame on.

I've gotten two of my Mad Dog rebates back already and both times I had to submit a registration code. I wonder why it didn't show up on your computer.

I just checked it out, the line asking for the registration code isn't there. The line to put it in is though.
