I think I just came up with a pretty good idea for a Star Wars based game

Star Wars: Mos Eisley

The game is set in Mos Eisley, that wretched hive of scum and villany.

It maps out the city to explore, dividing it into sectors. What we saw in Star Wars was probably the mild part of the city.

It would contain plenty of sewers, dungeons, and dark areas. You could choose your starting character - a farmboy like Luke, a rookie stormtrooper, or one of the many creatures that might mull around there.

The main plot might involve infiltrating a Hut complex, an imperial outpost, or a rebel hideaway. In any case - it would take you to the far reaches of Tatooine (maybe it's not all desert?).

The main character would run into familiar faces, such as the duo that accosted Luke in the cantina, Jabba himself, and penis-nose. And of course - Jawas, lots of Jawas.

Potential?

Don't you think the starting character will change the plot too much? for e.g if you play as Luke it is bound to have a different story arch entirely compared to as a jawa.

You guys have no vision.

The characters of this game would exist outside of the main plot of the Star Wars movies.

It would give gamers a chance to explore Mos Eisley.

Han,

but in a great set-piece moment you enter the cantina just as it happens.

And Han shoots first.

Han.

Not a bad idea, I'd play it more than likely, since it's not Jedi focused. Though Imperial Outpost can't really be in it due to Tatooine being Hutt controlled, as far as I understand the lore. Tatooine is also all desert, so you can't change that either.

After checking, there is a brief moment where there was a station, 130ABY.

As always, X-Wing, Tie Fighters games would be welcomed.

See, this is why Star Wars (and many other franchised) games suck for the most part. People either want a slightly updated version or a remake of a game that was made a long time ago. Yawn.

If you love the SW universe wouldn't you be dying to see something new in a game, instead of being a Jedi or space jockey all over again? I sure would. I'd love to explore the dark nooks and crannies of a place that fascinated me when I saw the movie as a kid, and I'm sure there's a good tale to be told as well.

It's easy to make a good Star Wars game. Just that Lucasarts is run by a bunch of idiots.

Via this really is a good idea! Kickstarter time?

KOTOR 1 and SWTOR have already done a good job of letting me visit the planet in a game for RPG fun.

You missed your chance. That game was made, it was called Star Wars: Galaxies.

Star Wars MMOFPS, somewhat like Planetside 2 but with space being included (and heavily focused on), and with better design and balance decisions.
