I have the E8400 and the HSF came with these 3 black lines of this sticky stuff, i didnt know what it was so i first put some TIM on the CPU then i placed the HSF on top, should I remove these black lines?
Oh i need to reapply thermal paste because im testing out the IC Diamond stuff
Right now i have it clocked at 3.7 GHz

Thanks!

Black lines on the stock heatsink?

I used the Intel heatsink when I first got my E8400. I do recall it being 3 strips, but it was white, not black.

Yeah, you don't need both the Intel TIM and whatever else you're using. Clean the Intel TIM off and install a thin layer of the other TIM.

Anything over 70% is fine.
People say to use "90%+" but it really doesn't make a hell of a difference.

If you already have 92%, then use it ;)
