What the F is that for ?
Because it is a wealthy mans disease  diverticulitis on the other hand, is not

Don't know about a wealthy mans disease. I think it may be coming form my blood pressure medication.

It may not be gout, but a side effect of that particular medication, talk to your doctor about it.

Yea it's referred as the "Rich man's disease" because it's caused by eating lotsa foods rich in proteins (causing crystals to form at joints).

If you send me a proper specimen of your synovial fluid, I'll tell you if you have gout or not. Prolly easier to ask your doc, though.

Which one you like better, George Michael, or Disturbed?

been there. Man did that suck. Even more so when I went to the doctor and they jabbed a needle into my big toe joint to suck some of the fluid out. Good thing they gave me Vioxx for the pain

I feel your pain. As long as you take your allopurinol you should be fine. Your doctor will give you a list of things you should not eat (it includes almost all food known to man), ask him if he will guarantee you will never get another attack if you stop eating these things. Most likely he will say you could still have another attack even if you follow the list.

So get some indomethacin and take it when you have an attack (the stuff kicks ass, but it is bad for the kidneys).

Just my opinion...
