My only advice is that before you blame some disease you better have thoroughly examined your own life. Are you eating healthy, do you sleep a solid and consistant 8 hours a night, have you expressed interest in what you are learning outside of your school and put some thought into it, are you getting enough exercise on a daily basis, have you really put forth 120% effort in paying attention in class. If you can truthfully answer yes to all these then yea maybe you have some sort of disease like ADD that makes it more difficult for you to learn. Lots of people look for an easy way out or an excuse, don't be one of them.

You guys think I might have ADD? I know there aren't any real physical symptoms... its a mental thing. Any tips? I used to take ritalin about 10 years ago but it made me really sick to my stomach. Is there any thing else I should do besides "go to google" or "go to a doctor"? Anyone else have ADD? Even adult ADD?

edit: spelling.

If you can type out this message displaying your frustration just because you have ADD. Doesn't mean you can't pay attention and try.

A normal person is able to concentrate even on tasks that are considered boring. Just because someone with ADD doesn't have any trouble concentrating on something they're very concerned about/interested in, doesn't mean that they don't have ADD.

Even if you eat generally well, it doesn't kill off ADD.

I'm going to go into details about what ADD really is, at least from what we know today because so many people don't have an idea (even those with ADD). I really get sick of people claiming that it doesn't exist. That's total BS, don't listen to them...

Most evidence is indicating that ADD, as well as other mental disorders, is caused by a lack of DHA during early childhood. DHA is a type of omega 3 fat that the human body needs for brain development in early childhood. It can only be consumed directly, or EPA consumed and our bodies make DHA.

You ever hear about breast feeding your children as healthy? That's because what's unique about human milk is that it has DHA (if the mother has any).

Omega 3 fats were once abundant in common meats like beef and chicken. However, due to the farming methods used the past few decades (lock up and feed grains), livestock is no longer making omega 3 fats in any significant form. Instead, much more saturated fats, and this has contributed to heart disease.

The sources of omega 3 fats these days are wild fish, walnuts, and a few types of seeds.

The vast majority of people in America are severely defficient in omega 3 fats.

It is believed that the deficiency of the omega 3 fats during the development of the brain causes it to have a tendency of imbalanced neurotransmitters, and these help regulate concentration and thinking.

I used to have ADD. I took Ritalin for 10 years. But about 6 months ago I decided to change that because I couldn't stand the side effects, the evening crashes, the problems sleeping, etc.

The only way to "fix" ADD a healthy way is to take dietary supplements. Stuff like L-Tyrosine are precursors to the neurotransmitters that are imbalanced in our brain. After I go off the supplements, I'm sure my ADD would return within a couple of weeks. Be careful though, most supplements are pure BS. The ones I linked earlier I use.

The flawed American solution is to put drugs into your system to suppress neurotransmitters while fvcking around with other parts of your body giving you side effects.

The dietary supplement method not only elminates ADD, but it also improves thinking, sleep, depression, etc.
