I think I have ADD

I can't pay attention in class. I did horrible on my first exam. Physics is getting really hard because I can't follow what the instructor is saying. I feel incredibly stressed out just because I can't pay attention. I've tried but it just doesn't work. I feel like I always wanna be moving around or something. I feel really restless.

You guys think I might have ADD? I know there aren't any real physical symptoms... its a mental thing. Any tips? I used to take ritalin about 10 years ago but it made me really sick to my stomach. Is there any thing else I should do besides "go to google" or "go to a doctor"? Anyone else have ADD? Even adult ADD?

edit: spelling.

OK, you feel restless, can't concentrate. For the restlessness I can recommend exercise. That will relax you. Concentration: Well, that's a battle you'll have to wage yourself, I figure. Do what it takes to get interested in the subject. Myself, I was really really good in physics. What makes things tick fascinates me. Try to follow the logic of what the teacher is saying. If you can't follow what he/she is saying, that's not unusual - that used to happen to me a lot. The solution is to read the text before the lecture. Then you'll be able to follow the lecture. Good luck!

I was "diagnosed" with ADD in middle school. For years I was on meds, at least 3 different ones. I was prescribed to 40 mg. of Adderall/day, and when it kicked in, it worked wonders. Then again, I was on it for 5 years. It isn't the same anymore, and I still feel cravings for it. I've been clean for about three years. I would first consult a psychologist and work stuff out if need be. Then, if you truly decide you need it, get hooked up. Myself? I don't believe the whole thing.

Make sure you read the chapter before you go to class, and in physics you have to do some problems on your own so you'll be able to follow your professor.

With that said, we all have ADD.

Sounds like you just having something else on your mind. True ADD is very rare, and usually a misdiagnosis.

Probably true. In fact, the whole concept of ADD is total BS.

Do you ever feel like you notice a lot more things in your environment compared to everyone else? Like some guys shirt, or whats on the side of a bus, all this extra sh*t you don't really want to be looking at but you are always scanning and looking at something new every 10 seconds? <--- Me :(

Than yes, you probably have some sort of case of ADD.

Carlos Mencia: My retarded sister thinks her 8-year-old son has ADD. But he can play Halo 2 for eight hours straight. HELLO?
