This morning I found that I was unable to log into the forums. All my old posts list me as "guest" with post count "n/a".

I sent a message to an administrator through the "contact us" link and made a second account to post this here just in case. Incidentally the name "SlitheryDee" showed up as being available when I registered, so my assumption is that my account has somehow been deleted entirely. What gives?
 
What was your original username? I'd have to guess "SlitheryDee" but since you didn't specify, I cannot say. I did a search for the username "SlitheryDee" but none were found.

By default, we don't delete accounts. We do set them inactive when we need to. I can't say what happened to your account but it will take one of the higher level admins to investigate this issue.
 
The username is "SlitheryDee". I've been a member since 2005. I'm not sure what happened, but the evidence seemed to point to the account no longer being in your system. I COULD have chosen the name when I registered this second account. If the account was simply rendered inactive, the name still wouldn't show up as available, right? I intentionally did not use the original username because I didn't know whether that might present problems with reinstating my old account of the same name. I assumed it was somehow related to the downtime the forums had yesterday. Anyway, thanks for checking on it.

I would suspect this is the case as well, I have sent a message to our overlords in the hopes they can investigate and rectify this issue. Thanks for your patience and understanding, and hopefully this is an isolated case.
