I think I cracked one of my forearm bones...

Scarpozzi

Lifer
I think it's the ulna. (can't remember which one is exposed the most on the bottom...but I think that's it)

Back on the 14th, I was staying in a Chalet in the mtns when it snowed and the ground was covered with ice. I was getting firewood from outside and slipped on the sidewalk because it was totally iced and I was sporting my brand new New balance running shoes...the tread wasn't worn enough to give me traction...so I landed on my forearm in one major hit. It didn't swell much, but it's still extremely sore in one or two small spots...the bruising wasn't ever bad at all and was never really black...just a slight tint of blue. I never lost feeling anywhere, range of motion, or ability to move fingers...just a pain....

So should I bother going to the doc? It's only sore in one spot about an inch and a half from my elbow. What hurts most is when I use my forearm to prop myself up in chairs with wooden or plastic arms. The pain is extremely focused to that one point of impact...

sounds like it's bruised. You must have never broken a bone, b/c the feeling that comes from it is overwhelming.

Think it depends on the bone. I have broken bones and chipped bones and all that happens is it goes numb for an hour then bruises and is sensitive to the touch.

i'll go with bone bruise

but i'm not a medical professional either

i didn't even stay at a holiday inn express last night, i slept on the couch

Wow even a "lifer" will post one of these "I broke/hurt/strained/fractured/am dying/etc <insert human body part>, should I go see a doctor?" threads.

Seriously, why are people so reluctant to go to a doctor!? Are your lives that busy that you can't spare and hour of your time? I really don't get it.

That's it exactly. I have tons of sick leave and vacation time....about 4-5 weeks of each to be exact...but I can't leave work because we're too busy with projects and I basically took 3 weeks off after Xmas to spend time with family and go snowboarding in Utah.

I don't think it's severe enough to see a doctor....but I was wondering if anyone has had an experience like that. I think it's either slightly cracked or bruised, but it's extremely mild.....and as I said, only in one small area about the size of a dime. Thanks for all who replied.

Well, I broke my collarbone and had no idea anything was broken. The pain wasn't that bad, it only really hurt while trying to lift heavy objects.

I only went to the doctor at my wife's insistence, otherwise I would not have gotten the proper treatment for it to heal properly.

If you can, see a doctor to make sure its not broken.
