um... I thought doc martens were 100% uk made.... also one sole is *slightly* larger than the other... not enough to be another size though

(edit)
on the inside they say "made in china"

Real shoes have the made in china sticker. fake ones have the made in korea or philipine sticker.

it probably wasn't smart to alienate the huge "skinhead/white supremacist" market that was so loyal to them through the years. :p

i bought some (chinese) doc loafers a few months ago. i still like them, but they're definately not as cool as the ones made in the UK.

I stopped buying doc martens about 7 years ago when they stopped making their shoes with real leather, now they coat it with plastic crap which peels off, ALDO shoes all the way!

After a while they'll start peeling, then we'll see ;)

I've gone to private school for my entire life.. started with doc martens and gradually got away from them when they got cheaper and cheaper (not in price, but in quality). After my fifth pair, I realized that the black started peeling off.. it was really quite bad.

I'm with you, the last pair of Docs I bought just weren't as comfortable and it seems like the leather quality has gone down. ALDO is a good alternative although they are completely different styles, good shoes though.
