My fiancee and I have three cats now. The first two live with her in Raleigh and I just recently got our third.

When we moved to Raleigh, our oldest got spooked by a sound and ran full speed into a computer case. She broke her leg completely. It took 4 weeks with a cast to heal. She has a limp because of it.

My kitten I got 3 weeks ago just got hurt. She has always liked to attack legs. She likes to bear hug them. Usually I am wearing pants and don't mind. It is just playful kitten stuff. About 15 minutes ago she did it to me in shorts and of course wasn't able to hold on. She fell and I stepped on her leg I think. There is not any visible damage. Her legs isn't broken completely through like my first cat. I just have a problem. No vets are open and I can't take her in. She just drank some water and ate some food. Right after it happened, she ran like a bat out of hell. She can move around but I can tell something around her back legs hurts.

I just pray there is nothing internally wrong.

Please stop stepping on/drop-kicking/punting/squashing/wailing on/ your kitties. LOL!

Don't know what to say...I hope they are OK and get better soon.

I hope this keeps up. Seems like she is feeling better. She is playing with a shoestring and moving around pretty well. I think I just gave her a deep bruise. She is still tender on one leg but she does put weight on it.

Hopefully the shortnap was all she needed.

You have the world's most fragile cats. Broken leg from running into a PC? MY cat constanly sprints around the apartment, running into things quite often... she's never broken anything.

But, yeah, stepping on kittens is bad for them.

What happened was that she ran full speed on the carpet, then hit the slick kitchen floors. She tried to turn around and whipped her back leg into the case. My fiancee started screaming when she saw the limp leg. It was pretty gross, I am just glad it didn't break skin.

To add insult to injury, the case was going to be thrown out anyways. It was a crappy compaq case from my fiancee's computer she had her first year in college.

The vet at the time was afraid he might have to amputate because she pulled the cast off twice. She would chew on it until she could push it off. I am just glad my vet was really cool and didn't charge me for extra casts. It was a really rough 4 weeks.

I'd start looking into why your cats start freakin' like that. Are you sure the house is on the up and up ? :)

<--- wonders why people choose cats over dogs. :)

I pick cats for a few reasons

1) You have to earn their trust and love. Dogs give it to you.
2) They are independant animals. They have no problem sitting around looking out the window.
3) Less responsibility overall(I don't want to walk a dog 6 times a day)

I also live in an apartment which would IMO be cruel to have a dog here.

My cat freaked because my apartment was being packed up. Everything around them was changing. I was pulling down their cat tower that went from the floor to the ground and it scraped the ceiling. It made a really loud sounds which freaked her out.

I had two dogs growing up. I just never found them to be as enjoyable as cats.

Too funny, my cat that broke her leg did somwhat of the same thing. She saw a squirrel when I took her outside once. She took off and ran full speed into our fence. The squirrel was able to fit through the chainlinks. After she hit the fence, she just sat down and looked around. You could tell she was dazed.
