So I'm at work and out of the blue I felt very fatigued, to the point I did'nt think I could walk very well. At any rate I finally made it to my truck and drove home. By the time I got into the house I was freezing one second and buring hot the next, in addition to that I felt lightheaded as well. Today I stayed home from work and got a lot of sleep but I still feel crappy. Any tips on how to get a quick recovery?

So far I've taken the following; vitamin c, garlic tablets, wheat grass juice, echinchea(sp?), grape juice and cranberry juice.

Ibuprofen, ALOT of fluids, and some nice hot soups. Of course, lots of bed rest.
<-- Down with the flu, it sucks.

Flu shot FTW

Thats what I got :p

But bedrest and fluids like everyone else.....most of those herbal remedies dont do much, and some studies show echinachea might actually decrease immune response(meaning you stay sicker longer)

Ibuprofen is great, also consider decongestants over cough medicines.

Yep, only medicines asides from Ibuprofen you'll need are Sudafed and maybe Mucinex-DM if you've got a nasty cough like I do :(

That Sudafed is gonna work better than Mucinex. Remember a cough is caused by something irritating your bronchi/pharnyx/nose, all mucinex does is loosen up secretions. You'd be better off drinking lots of water(thus causing a loosening of fluid by fluid excess) and then taking sudafed to dry up all those secretions thus probably eliminating the cough in a more effective manner.

the flu shot only works on the strain it was made for. since you ahve the doc avatar you should know this. ;)

I had the damn flu for christmas and it sucked, had a bad dry cough, fatigued, hot flashes, chills. 3 days at home with lots of rest is about the only thing that will help.

Eat vitamin C tablets, drink lots of fluids, get lots of rest.

I think the old saying goes.. feed the cold, starve the flu.

That should be easy, my appetite is non-existent. All I had today was juice and a bowl of cheerios.
