i think comcast gave me a bad box

picked up our SA 8000HD high def PVR from comcast this afternoon. Came home, plugged it in- called comcast and they activated it / programmed - it worked for about five minutes and then the led's on the front went dim and it hasnt worked since.


its' still getting power (you can hear the hard drive, and the optical audio out on the back is lit up) -- but other than that -- no signs of life whatsoever)


anyhow-- comcast is sending someone out to look at it tomorrow.



on another note, does anyone else have on of these and know if the DVI port has been activated yet?

yeah, for the entire length of the first disc of LOTR:FOTR... still nothing 🙁

their has got to be a manual / hard reset somewhere.... some combination of buttons or something...

Thats better than what the PVR box from Time Warner did, the screen went all white and the TV emitted this high pitched squealing noise.... :| It was less than a day old 🙁
 
I have a 8300HD DVR from Brighthouse and the HDMI is active. Dunno if that helps you any though 😀
