I have three 3rd party applications that used to install just fine. I had to reinstall W7x64 and now suddenly those apps wont let me install...they say "class not registered" during the install process.
All other apps install just fine.

so i re-downloaded them from the web and they say same thing. So i thought W7 corrupted or something so i reinstalled it again, activated it and configured to my liking. then i installed drivers and tried again...same problem. "class not registered".
It cannot be the apps themselves cause i downloaded fresh ones from their main sites...yet they all installed just fine at one time and other apps install fine, just those specific 3. i'm using the same retail disk of W7, so that cannot be the issue less the disk scratched but doesnt look it...what could this be?

sounds like a botched registry? When you say reinstalled win 7, are you referring to a repair install or clean wipe?

Are you sure that the applications are Win 7 compatible?

If it is not a big secret which applications are they?

Arcsoft...Total media extreme and Showbiz. There is also a screensaver called ancient ocean screensaver or something like that, does the same thing, so its not just arcsoft's products.
they are windows 7 compatable...according to site. and i did install total media extreme one time before, worked fine.
i even tried a trial version of showbiz to make sure it wasnt just the installers or something.

reinstalled as in format. i did so cause i thought something was corrupted to, like a registry or something. all other apps install just great.

i cant figure out what a class no registered would mean exactly. other people seem to have no trouble with arcsoft. maybe windows isnt installing something right. i have eset smart security so i dont think i have a virus or nothing

i tried arcsoft forum twice but no one ever responded. so i tried their tech support email..nothing yet, but only been a few days.

i guess i could try to see if it installs on my laptop or not, its 32 bit version of 7. though like i said, it did install just fine before on this computer but i had to reinstall cause of some unrelated problems and it never worked since. must be bad Windows install or maybe my SSD drive is going bonkers?

This may be somewhat redundant, did you install the programs with administrator access?

Usually involves either lowering the default UAC settings or right clicking on setup files and "Run as administrator".

Just a guess.
