I think a lot of dudes are treating under armor like girdles

Just sayin

I see a lot of guys using under armor for under shirts. It fits tight and almost acts like a girdle. I see this on people that really don't have much reason to wear anything athletic. Was that it's intended purpose? I mean REALLY fat guys can't hide it, but I will say that if you have kind of a small gut this would hide that little bit of side fat. Seems like cheating

People value their physical appearance and will use almost any means to enhance it.

This surprises you?

I wear them with my skinny jeans.

Seriously, I've never understood the obsession with Under Armor. No different than any other athletic wear but twice the price.

The compression effects are beneficial. I doubt it does much for the fat guy though.

I ctrl+f'ed by post to make sure I didn't say something by accident... but I never said surprised. Is that its intended purpose or not? And do you consider it cheating to just wear shit that's slimming instead of working at it?

I had not previously engaged with this level of intellectual thought.

So what you're saying is I could look even more pimpin by wearing underarmor?

My God... won't someone please stop before I rip the threads of the space time continuum with my sexiness?

They make under shirts that are compression shirts to bring in your lower back and stomach but keep the upper body less compressed to give you a V-shaped torso (not Underarmour brand, off brands). I see them at Nordstrom, Banana Republic, and the like all the time. I've never tried one on although I am a gym rat, no need to. D: Still, men will buy anything that they think will make them look better. Just like women.

So your trying to say you spend a lot of time checking out other dudes?

Yup

It's the quickest way to gauge my level of "piece of shit"ness versus the competiton. As long as I'm only fatter than 1/3 of them I'm okay with it.

I have compression clothes I use for running. It helps and makes a huge difference with controlling body temps and stuff.

I would never wear it anywhere outside of running and then only as a base layer with other clothes over it.

Agreed. I have base layer clothing (shirts, running tights, etc.) that I wear in the winter months for cycling, running, hiking, etc. It never gets worn outside of those activities.

What gets me is the guy who wears this shit to a restaurant as casual clothing like everyone is going to see him and think he just summited Mt Everest or some shit.

I only have compression shorts and the only reason I wear them at the gym or playing soccer is to keep everything in place.

I use under armor when I work out... I don't ever wear it when I'm not doing something athletic though.

One exception: their underwear is fucking unbelievable. The mesh stuff. I now wear it all the time, not just when working out. It keeps my boys dry and nicely packaged up against me. I HATE the feeling of boxers when your nuts flop around. I hate briefs...the boxer jocks from under armor are worth the $20. And during a workout, doubly so.

Not true. You should see my collection of Hawaiin shirts and crago shorts. I wear those with some flip flops. It's comfortable, but everyone says it looks like shit.

Why does it "get you"? Why do you care at all? Why do you feel a need to make a judgment about someone because they are wearing something that you wouldn't wear? Even if judging was the right thing to do, how do you know your judgment is correct? How do you know he didn't just get back from a 20 mile run and decide to go out to eat before getting changed and showered? You have no idea what the situation is except for your brief superficial view.
