I pay $225ish per 6 months. Illinois, 1995 dodge dakota v6, 26yo, nice neighborhood, no tickets, no accidents. That's FULL comp and collision with pretty sick coverage ($2,000,000 i think).

Farmers insurance FTW !!!

Well, 3 things.

1. A LOT of apartments require it.

2. It is not really that expensive ($150/yr for $20000 of coverage)

3. Do you really want to lose all of your ****** because your stupid neighbor started their kitchen on fire and burned down the building? If you don't have renter's insurance, you will. Think about how smart the other people in your building are, and then think about trusting every single one of your belongings to them.

Make better sense now ?

I have three other roommates and ANYTHING can happen. I don't have much to my name, but I'd hate to have to replace it all. At $13/mo, I can't go wrong.
