I swear, if it has to come down to buying junk food online, then so be it....

I'm sick of this crap. I never have any junk food at home! Thanks to my mom, we always have some ghetto ass asian candy, or some weird chinese fruit crackers. BAH, i swear, the one thing i hate about being asian, and that's when i try to buy some junk food, and my mom replies, "Mmm Mai Ahh, Tie yeet hai!" For all of you that don't speak cantonese, that means something along the lines of, "I won't buy it, it's too hot" But can anyone else elaborate on hot? I can't quite describe it, since it doesn't mean unhealthy. I can't pinpoint it... Either way, :frown:

See, not necessarily. Well, not the way my mom means it anyways. Cookies and chips are also under the "yeet hai" category. And when i'm sick, it's because of "yeet hai" as well.

Err... Us Viet people have a thing for Hot too. Like, not spicy but hot for your body. Kinda hard to explain... Like how fruits are supposed to be cool *temperature wise or something* and like that? Sorry, I can't really explain it.

Herbal and/or Dietary Methods
In Chinese medicine, "dietetics" and herbalism usually are not separate specialties. Supposedly, the curative effect of a food or food-drug mixture depends on its "nature" and "flavor." The "natures" are: cold, hot, warm, and cool. The "flavors" are: salty, sour, sweet, bitter, and pungent. Practitioners purportedly seek to neutralize illness by prescribing foods and food-drug mixtures whose "nature" and "flavor" antagonize the "nature" and "flavor" of the disease. According to the theory underlying the Chinese System of Food Cures, (a) any disease that either worsens in a warm or hot environment or improves in a cool or cold environment is "hot"; (b) "hot" diseases call for "cold" foods; (c) a high fever is a "hot disease" and therefore calls for "cold" foods; and (d) "cold" foods include clam, crab, and water chestnut.

i know what you mean with the "hot" thing. in mandarin it is "shang huo" or "going on fire". like when you bite your tongue, it is because you are "shang huo"

<< So you want to join in what million of overweight americans already eat to much off?

Enjoy :p
>>

It's a little too early to start, since i have CIF next friday, but what am i to do? I'm sitting here on the computer, with this massive craving, and the nearest liquor store is a 10 minute walk away :p

But "fay gee," i can't figure out what it is. All i can think of is "fat pig"

That's a good thing, you'll burn it all off from the walk.

That's how I try to keep my eating habit under control. No junk food and no soda in sight. Of course, when I visit my parents(or just friends with chips) or something, I'm really delighted.
