In the last 6 months, the following has broken on me:

1. Sony P800 cellphone (power button broke, RMA'd and sent back).
2. Laptop primary battery died (bought new battery).
3. my trusty old technics RM-253X cassette deck (needed new belts, man that was a pain in the ass to fix, but it IS 20 years old...)
4. Maxtor 200GB external hard drive. Grrr... this died yesterday. My backup drive died! Geez! RMA'd it today, should have another one in 3-6 business days.

This is starting to drive me nuts. What's broken on you in recent times?
 
Sony laptop cord and drive are borked.
PSU fried in 8 year old's rig.
13 year old toasted her hard drive.
That's this week's events. There's not enough bandwidth to list all the things that have broken around here in the last year. I never get tired of fixing stuff 😉
 
Can't say I'm surprised about the Maxtor.

I will jump for joy the day their drives are ebolished from the surface of the earth. They give me nothing but extra work to do.

Haha. I agree with you 100%.

I absolutely hate Sony but I couldn't resist the PSP and placed a pre-order for it. 🙁

My DSL went out at home sometime between yesterday and the day before. I spent a couple of hours with Bellsouth tech support last night to no avail. Sounds like I'll spend a couple of more hours with them tonight. Pisses me off because I was going to work a half-a-day from home and then go to the SEC basketball tournament. I was forced to come into the office for half-a-day because of this.

The funny thing was during the middle of trying something that I knew wouldn't work anyway (why do they make us go through that) the tech support guy asked me to reboot my PC. Wouldn't you know it....the PC just hung on the Windows XP loading screen and wouldn't do anything else. Fortunately, I had my laptop nearby and we were able to continue trying to get a connection with it.

...actually, that's about it. My maxtor drive is running smooth as silk, has been for more than 2 years now.

You are not the only one, my brother has done away with 2 computers. I have massive Netgear router failure.

So thats 4 pieces of hardwares and also 2 harddrives to RMA.

I haven't been able to make our past 4 cordless phones to last more than a year. Of course one is blamed on lightning and another, my wife dropped into the washing maching full of water. Doh.
