I come home from my bike ride, shake the lock on the front door a few times, not a peep. I walk around to the back of the house through the side gate and come in the back door. Nothing. I make a strange voice and ask a few times if anyone is home, she's nowhere to be found.

Ring the door bell and she goes nuts though.

Some watch dog she is.

Here's a pic of sir sleeps-a-lot

Well, I usually ring the doorbell prior to my B & E, so she'd probably keep me away. :\

My dog knows its me just by the sound of my car, he knows some of my friends by their car, and my dad by his powerstroke diesel. I can tell he knows which is which because he gets more excited if its my dad or certain friends.

Maybe you're dog is smarter then you? Looks like a border collie or at least part, so I would venture a guess and say "YES, yes he is".

You were inspired by my Aldo reference, tracked down the vinyl and blew out your dogs ears Saturday night. I'm calling peta.

No, she's part black lab, part mutt. And she's older than dirt.

It's possible that she heard my bike clicking up to the front door. I was clomping around the side of the house right past the window to the office where she was lying when I came in.

LOL. No, I don't even own a turn table and my HT receiver doesn't have analog inputs for one even if I did. I need to remedy that one of these days though. :)

I'd still venture that she's part border collie because of the front paws.

Perhaps, I've had Vets look at her and say they think she has some rottweiler in her because of the shape of her head. She was 4 months old when we rescued her from the local animal shelter. She'll be 12 years old this July.

She's a good dog. I'll miss her when she goes. :'(

My dog barks her head off if the doorbell rings or somebody knocks on the door. Then, if they come in, she goes and hides under the bed and barks.

What kind of lame-ass HT receiver doesn't have a simple RCA L/R input anyway?

Your dog looks exactly like my childhood pet! (except her markings were white instead of grey.) Ours was lab/malamute mix.

Were your wife and son home at the time? My dog won't do a thing if you aren't home. I could have a van full of felons pull up and march in and she'll be lucky to raise an eyebrow at them.

But if we're home...oh boy...she'll be at the door if an ant farts too loud.

The dog knows you. They have a sense of smell better than any one of our individual senses. She literally knows its you from the driveway.

Also, that dog is really cute.
