Maetryx here,

Just munched down another Rice Krispies treat (actually made from some generic store brand). My wife keeps making them, lately. She made some this week because I'm working some long days to try and take Friday off for a camping trip.

In some ways, I think Rice Krispies treats are the most artificial food on the planet. Who invented them???? How did they think of that? Mmmmmmmmm.

I guess I'll read a book at lunch, or perhaps nef furiously for 30 minutes. Once I at the Rice Krispies treats, the sandwich was doomed.

Whoa! They're not actually rice "kernels". They're a slurry of rice meal (or whatever) pressed into that shape and cooked. I just read that on Wikipedia's entry for Rice Krispies. All these years! [vader]Nooooooooooooo![/vader]

They're even better if you add mini chocolate chips. They get all melty when you pour in the molten marshmallow goo.
