We developed a methodology of which defects are passing (the die will function when packaged with the defect, like microscopic lint or passivation) and which defects are failures (such as potholes in the capacitor, or the defect that I had a picture of)


I work for Electroglas Inspection Products, our parent company (Electroglas) shut down our division a couple of weeks ago 🙂() but they're bound to a contract with a company to finish this is project over the summer, then I'm out of a job. We aren't even supposed to do this part of the inspection, we just sell them the machine that does the inspection, but they wanted a one time lot of inspected wafers so it didn't justify buying a 1/2 million dollar machine just to do a couple (1000) wafers. The company that we've been scanning these for has been very understanding since we are not the company that they signed the deal with, they're still dedicated to getting the job done (and so are we, it's just boring as hell!)

Ok, I found a way to stay on task, now I'm writing down what time I start a particular wafer and end it, so I'm accountable for the time between inspections and the time during MUHAHAA now I can't post as much :/
