Just made pancakes for dinner. I think I used too much water in the mix - they ended up limp, skinny and lightly burnt.

Help me learn how to cook!

- not just pancakes, anything. Give me cooking recommendations as to how much to defrost frozen chicken, grill something whatever. Whatever tips you were given when you were first learning, please share!

Just follow the directions on the box to the T and they should come out fine...

Low heat is the only way to cook them. You only flip them once if you flip more then once you arent waiting long enough for the first flip...

Wait until the edges are cooked through then flip.

I am the master at cooking pancakes, golden brown and perfectly cooked everytime.. Except the frist 1 or 2 from a batch cause the heat in the pan is never even until you cook at least one... my dog always gets the first two.

It will just take time and experience. Just keep cooking and you will get better. Do you have any friends that like to cook? Maybe you could help/watch to pickup a few pointers.

My father and stepmother love to cook; my mom is proficient. I've learned quite a bit by watching them, but I still have a lot to learn.

to defrost chicken you just leave it in the fridge for a day. keep it in a marinade and you'll have something tasty

Start here: Allrecipies.com Stick with the top 10 lists, maybe the quick & easy top 10 1st...

I just bought a 6 qt Kitchen Aid mixer, made a batch of blueberry pancakes on Sunday to die for.

My mom was a very bad cook (but a very kind soul), I learned to cook as a matter of survival.

You should buy a crock pot & make a few of the recipies in the book that comes with it, browse the All Recipies site & find a few favorites, then move up to more complex meals...

George Foreman grills are great, as are rice cookers, you've got to have the tools to cook quickly & well.

Worst thing I ever made was vegetable kabobs, god were they rank:(

I think you need start with basics:

Boil some water first, and make sure you don't burn it.
