your teacher may have provided you with a text known as a "math book". this tome may have clues to the answers you seek.

Yup, and to help you remember how to find the y-intercept. It's the same as asking why is the value of y when x = 0 because the y-axis IS when x=0.

I hope you are not planning on a physics major.

Ok, why can't people just help him out without all the smart comments. Did he say that he plans on joining NASA? We ALL have had trouble with some things in the past. Not ALL of us are braniacs here.

That being said, ShotgunEd, this is one of those problems that could have been done rather easily by looking at a few problems in the math book. Because there really isn't too much involved with solving this. That being said, please don't hesitate to post here if you need more help. But also, if you get stuck.....ask for hints, and show us that you have attempted to solve the problem or have some sort of understanding of it.

That is all.

Isn't geometry usually taught after algebra 1?

Yah my school and all the schools in this area go... Algebra 1 -> Geometry -> Algebra 2

Don't worry about it. These guys here are way advanced in math, in fact they're so advanced that they've figured out how to go back into time.

I just learnt this stuff last year in elementary algebra. So don't worry about it. In fact, I friggen forgot how to do these problems. But I do know something = mx + b.

If by crazy do you mean drug-induced comas? Because that's the only explanation for not knowing how to find slope and y-intercept.
