looks good to me! i would get kingson hyperx pc3000 from excaliberpc.com. the stuff is under $90 a stick, and is great ram. i'm partial to EPoX boards, myself, but Gigabyte makes good stuff. the only thing i have a problem with is the video card. the 9700 non pro isn't much more expensive, and if you wait a little while the 9700 Pro is gonna drop in price. not to mention the 9600 pro that ATi is gonna release soon. are you gonna overclock, and if so, what cooling are you considering?

Looks good to me. As for ram i'd reccomend Samsung Orig. It's all i use on my systems and it's great! DDR266 @ 300 !

GigaByte mobo's are super stable from my expierience so it's a good choice. Don't forget a quality PSU for that setup i'd say a Antec 350w or higher Enermax is good stuff too. I think you get what you pay for in PSU's, the cheaper ones r over-rated.

I'd wait for the 9700 prices to fall or you could get the 9600 once its out. It won't hurt to wait a little. You may want to check out I ntel motherboards since they are always really stable and if you treat them well, they won't let you down. :)

Ok, I'll wait and see what happens with the video cards.

Yes, I'll be getting atleast a 350W supply.

Right now I have a 1.6 @ 2.4 with the stock cooling.

I'd like to get my 2.4 to 3.0. I'm impressed with the GIGANTIC sink Intel issues...

I would go for quality ram, like Crucial, infinion, Samsung. Cheap stuff isn't always good stuff. (with the prices these days, good stuff is cheap.)

Yeah, like everman said, don't try and cut corners trying to save a few bucks here and there, just get some good RAM which is pretty cheap in itself right now.

the money you dont shell out now will not only be paid out when you have to ship and pay a restocking fee to return bad ram, but in the downtime your box has because the only memory you had was suckage

<--- has learned this the hard way

Is the motherboard an Intel chipset? If it isn't I'd recommend you go with one.
