Tip to Self: Never mention any personal crimes at Anandtech. :)

Guys, come on. You are going really hard on him. I agree, he should have said something, but, mabye its one of those relationships. She just says "go ahead and play with it, just don't break it!"
He did say that he tested how well it overclocked...which I guess he had permission to do?

Why didnt you just ask her?
Odd's are she wasnt planning on overclocking so wouldnt have minded at all. I doubt your relationship will last if you would stoop that low.

Jonny's right, I suppose, we don't have to stone the guy. It IS funny, in a twisted sort of way. Like "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels", one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.....

And it reminds me to be very careful in the "For Sale or Trade" forum, and why I prefer "retail boxed" cpu's. And I wonder how often Joe&Joan Normal's computer has a different processor when it comes back from the shop...

have you people play Counter Strike before? If this forum has a voting system like CS, my vote definitely goes to vote this guy OUT!....
I would never do this to my girl friend.... this is like cheating on her in a different way.

This isn't such a horrible thing. I built a computer for my grandfather, and put in some quality Micron RAM. I bought some new RAM for myself and it was incompatible with my motherboard. I didn't think twice about swapping the RAM, and guess what, it worked fine with his computer. No harm done.

Funny, madcowz gets banned because the mods "think" he's the same guy that requested hack info. But, this dweeb admits to theft and not only do they not ban him, but they haven't even locked this silly thread yet. Me don't gets it:confused:.

haha, thats pretty funny

I think you really should've told her before you switch the cpus. I doubt it that she would even care, since shes your gf and all. I wouldnt be bragging about what you did because its not like you stole her virginity...now thats something to brag about :p

I think it would have been advisable to ask (at least mention it), well I would have anyway - not that I am an angel by any stretch of the imagination.

However, this latest girlfriend I have right now has lasted thru 3 processor changes but that can easily be achieved if you can have the use of other "systems" than your primary "machine" :)

Wonder if I can wangle a dual "CPU" setup - doubt I'm upto it nowadays though.....lol :)

why didn't you overclock her computer for her? I'm sure she would've like a 1GHz machine as much as you. Just shows how selfish you are.

Do yourself a favor and go get her some nice flowers for Valentine's day.
