He did say that he tested how well it overclocked...which I guess he had permission to do?

And it reminds me to be very careful in the "For Sale or Trade" forum, and why I prefer "retail boxed" cpu's. And I wonder how often Joe&Joan Normal's computer has a different processor when it comes back from the shop...

This isn't such a horrible thing. I built a computer for my grandfather, and put in some quality Micron RAM. I bought some new RAM for myself and it was incompatible with my motherboard. I didn't think twice about swapping the RAM, and guess what, it worked fine with his computer. No harm done.

I think it would have been advisable to ask (at least mention it), well I would have anyway - not that I am an angel by any stretch of the imagination.

However, this latest girlfriend I have right now has lasted thru 3 processor changes but that can easily be achieved if you can have the use of other "systems" than your primary "machine"

Wonder if I can wangle a dual "CPU" setup - doubt I'm upto it nowadays though.....lol
