So I'm tracking a package all day - I know UPS has till 7pm or so to deliver it. I get home, check the site, and it says delivered - front door. Umm, no, it wasn't. I go outside to double-check and sure enough, nothing was there... nothing at the side either. Just before I come back inside to give them a piece of my mind I decide to look at the houses across the street... nothing... I look at my next door neighbors darkened porch... sure enough a box was sitting there. Like a ninja I crept over, checked the name, and swiped it. Win.

WTF are you doing UPS?! The big #7 on my door isn't big enough?

UPDATE 12/4:
OhEmmGee.... WTF they did it again with another package from another sender. This time my neighbor called me to come get it. Her house number is 11 and mine is 7. Double-U Tee Eff.

^ I checked, nobody was outside smoking or anything. It being dark at 4pm nowadays helped too.

DO NOT OPEN THAT BOX. CONTACT YOUR LOCAL HI-JAC OFFICE IMMEDIATELY. AN AGENT WILL BE OVER PROMPTLY TO RELIEVE YOU OF THE PACKAGE. I REPEAT, DO NOT OPEN IT.

I've had to do that before. Was tracking most of the day until it was delivered, oddly it wasn't on my front porch.
So I drove around the neighborhood and sure enough saw it on the porch of 152 E Center Street. I lived at 152 S Main Street. Case cracked.

the past being like 2 months ago? i mean, yes, anything prior to right now is the past, but you make it sound like it was years ago...

Been there done that. Except I knocked on the door to tell that it was my package, hmm I think it was only because they had a camera above the door.

Could be worse. USPS has always been good to me, until once (after delivering plenty of mail to the right address), they delivered a package to the wrong guys. They wrote "does not live here" or something on the package and sent it back. So USPS started doing Return To Sender on ALL of my mail. Idiots. I was waiting for three packages in preparation for a big trip to SE Asia. I ended up intercepting one at the post office when they were about to send it back, got the shipper to re-send another and picked it up at the PO before they went out to (mis)deliver it, and had to buy the third again locally for much more money (plus I was out the original money I paid).

It took me a while to work out exactly what had happened, since they wouldn't fess up to it.

WTF!?!? I was waiting for my Hanns-G 22" LCD that was supposed to be delivered by UPS today. The stupid driver delivered it to my next door neighbor. Thankfully she came over and delivered it to me. This post must have jinxed me or something...

I can beat that.

Ordered a game from Electronics Boutique (back in '05). Entered my PO Box for the delivery. They didnt say shit, didnt contact me and ask for a better address.

A week later I check online to see why it hasnt come yet. Order page doesnt help me a damn bit. Call up their number, dude tells me it was delivered and gives me a UPS tracking number. I say: "what the heck, I entered a PO box for the delivery field??" Got into a long debate with him.
Long story short: Neither EB or UPS questioned the delivery address of a PO Box.

The package was dropped off at a random house on the far side of town.

I found it with Google Maps and went over. Still sitting on the front patio, opened. Residents were probably thinking "WTF is this shit?". Left a note on their door thanking them for their understanding. Then I snagged it and hauled ass home.

Never did business with EB after that. I always avoid UPS if I can.
