Okay guys here is the deal I need STABLE drivers I dont want every game to come out not to work or have something wrong with it. I also want awsome graphic quality, and speed is second to quality for me.

I want WICKED DRIVERS
I want WICKED GRAPHICS
I want fast speed, doesnt matter as much as quality and graphics

I am running a p3 1ghz with all the bells and whistles.

what should I get, you say Geforece please let me know what brand name would suite my needs the most

how much you wanna spend? get a geforce3 if money is no object. otherwise a radeon is going to be prettier than an ultra, but the ultra has the speed and compatability edge.

Maybe I will go with the geforce 3 if someone was to buy my crazy low priced Office XP I am asking 260 for it.

I don`t know about ATi drivers but Nvidia drivers used with my MX have been rock stable for gaming on my PC no complaints at all,I will say 100% stable for me since never had a problem with any game(I`m a gamer).

I really love my Geforce 3 and I loved my Geforce 2 Ultra that I had before this but I especially love my Geforce 3.

Either go with the Radeon now and wait to see how the Radeon2 compares to the GF3 or skip straight to a GF3 and do not look back.

I agree with Bingo13:). I've owned a Radeon64, a GTS Ultra, and now a GF3, and the GF3 is the best of all worlds:D! Serious Sam has to be seen to be believed;)! Also, the GF3 is a card that you won't have to upgrade for quite some time, since all the games/apps are going to be playing catch-up with its features; also, you've got the raw cpu power to utilize its potential, so why not go for it when you cash in on that OfficeXP?

My advice is to buy a $75 Radeon LE 32mb DDR, wait a while 6-months to a year then fork out for something nice. Personally I will never spend over $150 for a graphics card, but then I'm tight. :D

Neither of those cards will be any good with that setup and those settings. VadRad, get the GF2 Ultra unless you can squeeze a bit more cash for a GF3. nVidia's driver support is very good.

Get a ge2 PRO.
Nothing can compare to it in its price range. ($140+)

Get the Radeon for better image quality and 2D quality. Compatibility is not an issue, imho.
Get the Ultra for speed.

Or... Get the GF3 and have it all.

More info here...a lot of people have been in your position and tried a Radeon card and found
themselves won over by the quality of the 2D and 3D image quality(colour, saturation, and working DXTC) while finding the framerate more than acceptable for the bulk of today's games.

GF3 have good 2D quality & great drivers,ATI Radeon great 2D quality, drivers IMHO not quite has good,& slower then both.

So options are,

ELSA GF2 ULTRA ( probably the best 2D quality of GF2 cards) & fast.
GF3 have good 2D image & fastest card with the most expensive price.

ATi Radeon has great 2D image, good price, drivers are ok,but ATi Radeon2 is not far off down the road.

so right now there`s only three choices,GF3,Elsa GF2 ULTRA,or ATI radeon 64mb DDR.

I would go with GF3,or wait for ATi Radeon2.

don't see why you want to pay for an Ultra when the price is too close to a GF3. I would buy a GTS/pro for $150 and overclock it a bit. you'd get a helluva lot more speed in 16 bit games and could apply FSAA to them.
