Just an FYI.....the XP90c was less than 1 degree cooler in all tests compared to the regular XP90 AL considering idle and load temps.. For all practical purposes, the regular AL XP90 is a much better buy.

actually, they supposedly weigh about the same. from what I've heard, the xp-90 is mostly copper anyway, it's just the fins that are aluminum, and the rest of it is aluminum plated.

I believe the fins are aluminum they have a nickle plated copper base, the copper XP-90 weighs a good bit more, but doesn't cool much better than the aluminum ones.

I'm thinking of OCing my system a little. Would an XP-90 be the way to go, or would something like a zalman CNPS7000B-Cu be better? I have a 3200+ on an asus A8N-SLI.

Both are great. The zalman is really quite while the XP-90 performs slightly better. You could get a quite fan with the XP-90 anyway though. Search google fort some comparisons. I bet the difference is not big. It most likely will come down to cost and personal preference. I would probably go with the XP-90 though.

I've had the nexus fans recommended to me for performance/silence. They're orange, which I'm not too fond of (whatever happened to just a regular black fan, anyway?) but they're pretty good. you can find them here: www.coolerguys.com

if you're talking uber oc's then go with the xp-90. i like the 7000 al/cu because the design allows the fan to blow air over the mobo, in particular my dimms and the pwmic area on my dfi nf4.
